Leicestershire County Cricket Club enjoyed a run to the semi final of the Barbados T20 Cup but unfortunately went out following a 58-run semi-final defeat to Warwickshire Bears. Hoggard missed the semi final, and was replaced by Wayne White as captain.

Currently in Barbados on a pre season tour with the Leicestershire County squad, captain Matthew Hoggard MBE is excited about the prospect of a successful 2012 season.

"We still have a young squad but it's exciting times. The bad year we had [last year] will stand us in good stead. Nobody likes losing but we gained lot of experience and hopefully we can get a good start."

On the 8th March Matthew spoke at the Business Improvement District Bid which took place at Worchester Cricket Club. Hoggard performed an exciting and detailed speech which outlined the impact that sport can have on young people's lives as well as demonstrating the importance of sport in terms of how success in top level sport can relate to success in Business.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a safe and happy festive period. Thank you all for your tremendous support during 2011 and here's to a fantastic 2012!

Former England Cricketer and Leicestershire County Cricket Club captain Matthew Hoggard will be appearing on Britain's toughest quiz - BBC 1's Celebrity Mastermind.
