2005 Ashes winning fast bowler, Matthew Hoggard, took to our screens back in August, appearing on ITV’s The Chase Celebrity Special game show. He was joined on the show by entrepreneur, Michelle Mone, actor, Neil Morrissey, and TV presenter Fern Britton, all of whom hoped to raise money for their favourite charities.
Hoggy’s competitive edge shone through and he was able to split a £42,000 prize fund with Britton, dedicating his £21,000 share to local charity Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. Champions Celebrity are proud to have given Matthew this opportunity to raise both vital funds for, and the profile of, such a worthy cause.
Hoggard, a patron of Rainbows, went along to the Hospice near Loughborough to present them with his winnings on Wednesday 10th December. While he was there he spent some time with the children and said, "I love visiting Rainbows to see the wonderful work that goes on. I am delighted to have been able to raise £21,000 for Rainbows from my win on Celebrity Chase. I had great fun taking part in the show and to be able to help such a good cause at the same time is a bonus."
