Hoggy covers IPL for ITV

Hoggy was a guest pundit on ITV4’s coverage of the IPL yesterday which featured the Chennai Super Kings beating Rajasthan Royals by five wickets and the Royal Challengers Bangalore defeating the Delhi Daredevils by 16 runs.

The Super Kings ascended to the top of the leaderboard by successfully chasing down a 149-run target set by the Royals, thanks to the ever-reliable batting of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. The match went right down to the wire, with Dhoni securing the victory with just two balls to spare.

The Rajasthan Royals were inspired by Yuvraj Singh’s 29-ball 68, finishing on a total of 187 which the Daredevils were unable to chase down.

The IPL has grown to become the most-watched Twenty20 cricket league in the world, attracting some of the world’s best players.

Hoggy commented: “The IPL is a fantastic spectacle and I always enjoy covering the action. Yuvraj Singh’s performance stood out yesterday and he has been a consistently strong performer for many years. There’s plenty more action still to go this season and I’m looking forward to watching all the twists and turns.”
